Glen Silver - Sax

"Dr. Glen" as he affectionately is known due to his day time profession and other passion of taking care of patients, started playing the saxophone at the age of 10. Dr. Glen was born in Chicago and later moved to Dallas, Texas. He studied music formally and attended the music school at University of North Texas. He has played on stage with Johnny Reno (Chris Isaac), Charlie Sexton (Arc Angles) and many popular Dallas bands such as Cold Blue Steel, Robert Lee Kobb, The Cartoons, Smokin Johnsons, The Tribe and Fearless Floyd. Dr. Glen recorded a CD of original songs in 2001 entitled "Jungle" and was accompanied by local great guitarist Andy Timmons. Having experienced the Austin music scene that included Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughn and influenced by recordings of Freddie, Albert, BB, "the Kings" and sax greats Maceo, King Curtis, Cannonball, Coltrane, Brecker, Evans, Blythe, Sanborn and many others, Dr. Glen has created his own unique hard-blowing, expressive and exciting style of playing.
